The Need

paperguitarThe need for music education is desperate. Numerous studies have shown that music instruction forms a strong foundation for future learning. However, student participation in music courses and the number of instructors teaching music has declined dramatically nationwide over the past 5 years. Despite its many benefits, music education has suffered greater losses than any other academic subject.  We can change this if we are willing to accept the responsibility of helping our nations’ youth have access to the powerful influence and benefits of a solid music education.

Music Education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”
–Gerald Ford, Former President of the United States of America
